JUST THREE WORDS

Thank you LordIt seems three words forever I must be bound to speak;
There’s not a day that passes but they’re said.
They greet each new-born morning, and bid farewell to night,
When gratefully I rest my weary head – thank You Lord.

Sometimes in tears of sorrow, amid some fiery trial
These words are whispered haltingly and faint.
Oft’ times they’re almost shouted in vibrant tones of joy
Without the slightest effort or restraint – thank You Lord.

No matter why I say them; when, or in what way,
They always seem inadequate, inept,
For no word sweetly uttered or action well performed
Could ever serve as payment of my debt – thank You Lord.

Just Three words, Thank you Lord

And even as I write this, His loving thoughts I sense.
“I do appreciate your words of praise,
But it’s not just conversations that will please the Father’s ear,
It’s the symphony of love that fills your days.” – thank You Lord.

For life and love and liberty to live within your will,
For ears to hear whatever you might say;
For food and friends, and family – for eyes to read your Word,
For faith to stand and conquer every day – thank you Lord!

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you.
