A CHRIST-LESS CHRISTMAS
Political correctness in all we do and say
And anti-discrimination, are the order of our day.
Now Christmas is being stripped of every spiritual connotation
Lest someone should be offended to think of us as a Christian nation.
If we take the Christ from Christmas what is left to make us glad?
If all we have is MAS it is meaningless and sad!
The sinless Babe who was born in Bethlehem’s manger was God’s own Son.
Just stop and think what we would have missed if Jesus had not come –
The love of God our Maker for a people lost and blind,
Groping through the darkness for a way they could not find.
The light of truth to show us the Savior who would gladly pay
With his very life, to open a new and living way
Where each repentant sinner can be freely reconciled
To a holy God, and through His grace be adopted as His child.
We could never know forgiveness, or the peace that God imparts,
Cleansing through the blood of Christ our guilty, sin-stained hearts.
How could we escape sin’s penalty without a Christ to save?
What lasting joy would life hold with no hope beyond the grave?
We must keep the Christ in Christmas! How else can it be known
That God, in Christ, became one of us to claim us as His own?

God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them …
