RESURRECTION

He is risen Jesus livesThe flowers of God’s creation
Live out their little day.
They bless us with their beauty
And quickly fade away,
And from their seeds or cuttings
New blossoms soon unfold,
And in their sweet renewal
A deeper truth is told.

The fairest Flower of heaven
Was planted on this earth.
He blessed us with His goodness
From the moment of His birth.
We took Him and we crushed Him.
His sinless blood we shed.
We turned our backs and scorned Him
And gave Him up as dead. read more

ONLY THERE …

When I’m tempted to yield to self-pity,
Anger or despair
As life’s disappointments multiply
Beyond my strength to bear;
Whenever I’m feeling sick at heart,
Despondent and void of hope,
When strength is small
Or faith is weak
And I lack the power to cope

Then I look to the cross of Calvary
Stained with blood divine,
Where the life of the sinless Lamb of God
Was sacrificed for mine. read more

AN ON-LOOKER AT CALVARY

They dragged him out through the city gates.
I saw the women crying.
I heard the jeers that fell like blows
On this one they were crucifying.

Compelled to carry his own cross,
He fell beneath the weight,
No doubt weakened through loss of blood
And wounds of spiteful hate. read more

LOOK TO THE CROSS

Have you suffered many things?
Has this life been in the main
A long interminable battle
With disappointment and pain?
Gaze on the crucified Jesus!
In Him you will clearly see
One who bore great agony
And sin, for you and me.

Do you secretly judge a holy God
For the horrible mess we are in,
And think to blame our Creator
For the end results of our sin?
Lift your eyes to the loving Savior
Who died with a broken heart
To purchase our salvation
And give us a brand new start. read more
